PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT PLAN (ESMP) FOR THE PROPOSED 124KM BACKLOG MAINTENANCE ROAD PROJECT IN NIGER STATE BY NIGER STATE RURAL ACCESS AND AGRICULTURAL MARKETING PROJECT.

In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act Cap E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces a twenty–one (21) working days Public disclosure for information and comments on the Environmental and Social Management Plan Document submitted by Niger State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project.

Project Description:

This proposed intervention involves the backlog maintenance of 124km road across six local government areas of Niger State which shall entail Site clearance; earthworks; provision of sub-base; provision of lateritic base course (generally as surfacing); trapezoidal earth side drains; with turnouts/off-shoots; lined side drains; single and multiple 900 mm concrete pipe culvert extensions and new culverts; reinforced concrete box culverts; reinforced concrete bridges on bored piles; Double Bituminous Surface Treatment (DBST) as well as other associated works. Click to Download Final ESMP Report for Niger SPIU RAAMP 8 Backlog Roads
