PUBLIC DISPLAY EXERCISE ON THE EIA OF 2MW SOLAR HYBRID POWER PROJECTS AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURES AT NOUN, ABUJA-FCT, FUHSO, BENUE STATE (LOT 1-NC) AND AFIT, KADUNA (LOT-1) UNDER THE NEP (DESERT TO POWER) PHASE II BY RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY (REA).
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAP E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major developmental activities to carry out EIA for their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty–one (21) working days public display for the draft ESIA report submitted by Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

The proposed development entails the construction and installation of a 2MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant integrated with a lithium-ion battery energy storage system to ensure power reliability and load balancing located within the premises of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja-FCT, Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo (FUHSO), Benue State and Airforce Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna State. The system will include PV modules, inverters, transformers, battery banks, mounting structures, internal distribution networks, and balance-of-system components necessary for efficient power generation and evacuation.
