PUBLIC DISPLAY ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (ESIA) OF THE PROPOSED EQUIANO NIGERIA SUBMARINE CABLE AT LEKKI, LAGOS STATE BY WIOCC NIGERIA LIMITED

In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAP E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty–one (21) working days Public Display for the draft ESIA report submitted by WIOCC Nigeria Limited. Brief Project Description:

The proposed project entails the installation of Equiano Cable System to link Nigeria with key International Telecommunications hubs in Southern Africa and Europe, the Nigerian branch of the proposed Equiano cable shall extend from the main Branching Unit connection point and pass through Nigeria’s Exclusive Economic Zone and the Territorial Waters to a landing site at Elegusihi beach where it would be connected to a proposed Beach Manhole (BMH) that will be located around 70m behind the beach  Click to Download Report Equiano Nigeria ESIA
