PUBLIC DISPLAY OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (EIA) OF THE PROPOSED FULL SCOPE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTERIAL ROAD N5 (OBAFEMI AWOLOWO ROAD) FROM LIFE CAMP JUNCTION TO RING ROAD 3 (RR III), ABUJA MUNICIPAL AREA COUNCIL (AMAC), FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT) BY FEDERAL CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (FCDA)
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAP E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty–one (21) working days Public Display for the draft Environmental Management Plan (EMP) submitted by Federal Capital Development Authority. This display is to enable the public make input that shall facilitate informed decision taking by the Ministry on the project EIA.
EIA Report Display Centers Are:
- Abuja Municipal Area Council, Abuja Federal Capital Territory (FCT),
- Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), Central Business District (CBD), Abuja, FCT.
- Federal Ministry of Environment, Environment House (Brown Building), Independence Way, Central Business District, Abuja-F.C.T.
Duration of Disclosure: Date: 24th August – 21st September, 2020 Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm Daily.
Brief Project Description:
The proposed project shall be a 7.2km road from Life Camp Junction to Efab – Jabi road and to connect Ring Road III in Karemo area. The activities shall include marking and pegging, clearing, equipment mobilization, earthworks, excavation, construction, earth filling and road surfacing to strengthen the existing carriageway as well as to install Traffic Signage.
