PUBLIC DISPLAY EXERCISE ON EIA REPORT OF THE RESETTLEMENT ACTION PLAN (RAP) FOR THE PROPOSED BRT PROJECT IN KADUNA METROPOLIS, KADUNA STATE BY KADUNA STATE TRANSPORT REGULATORY AGENCY (KADSTRA).
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAP E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major developmental activities to carry out EIA for their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty–one (21) working days public display for the RAP report submitted by Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Agency (KADSTRA).

The proposed project shall entail the construction and operation of a 44km Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system from Rigachikun to Mararaban-Rido covering parts of Igabi, Chikun, Kaduna-North and Kaduna-South Local Government Areas of Kaduna State including Kawo, Sabon Tasha, and the Central Market District (Kasuwan). The project activities involve the construction of dedicated BRT lanes, development of terminals and stations, road widening, bridge expansion, pedestrian facilities, and relocation of essential utilities including electricity, water, and telecommunications networks. The Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) is to ensure that potential social impacts arising from project implementation, particularly physical and economic displacement are properly identified, assessed, and managed.
