PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE LABOUR MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR LIVESTOCK PRODUCTIVITY AND RESILIENCE SUPPORT PROJECT (L-PRESS) BY THE FEDERAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT UNIT
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAP E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major developmental activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty–one (21) working days Public Display for the Labour Management Plan (LMP) document submitted by the Federal Project Management Unit of the L-Pres Project. This display is to enable the public make inputs that shall facilitate informed decisions on the project.
Brief Project Description
The Labour Management Procedure (LMP) of the LPRES project has been developed to ensure compliance with the World Bank and LPRES Environmental and Social Standard 2 (ESS2) on Labour and Working Conditions of project workers. The LMP identifies labour requirements and sets out the procedures for addressing labour conditions and risks associated with the proposed project, which is aimed at helping the project determine the resources necessary to address project Labour issues. Also, the LMP has outlined mitigation measures associated with the project
