Proposed Rural Road Rehabilitation, Phase 1 of (33nos – 174km) by Abia RAAMP

                                                    FEDERAL MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT

PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT PLAN (ESMP) FOR THE PROPOSED REHABILITATION OF RURAL ROADS ACROSS 17 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF ABIA STATE BY ABIA STATE RURAL ACCESS AND AGRICULTURAL MARKETING PROJECT (ABIARAAMP). 

In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act Cap E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces a twenty–one (21) working days Public disclosure for information and comments on the Environmental and Social Management Plan Document submitted by Abia State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (ABIA RAAMP).  Click to Download WB Reviewed Draft ESMP for Abia SPIU Clean copy

Project Description:

This proposed project entails site preparation, road construction, construction of box culverts, protection works and ancillary works for 33 roads totaling 174.122km which entails Spot Improvement (12Nos – 64.362km), Backlog Maintenance/Rehabilitation (10Nos – 55.60km), Upgrade (11Nos – 54.16km) and construction and rehabilitation of Cross Drainage Structures (9Nos – 79m) under phase 1 intervention works package across Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, Isuikwuato, Umunneochi, Umuahia North, Umuahia South, Ikwuano, Isialangwa North, Isialangwa South, Osisioma, Obingwa, Aba North, Aba South, Ugwunagbo, Ukwa North and Ukwa South Local Government Areas of Abia State. Click to Download WB Reviewed Draft ESMP for Abia SPIU Clean copy
