FEDERAL MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT
PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT PLAN (ESCP) REPORT ON THE SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL STANDARDS ENHANCEMENT (SPESSE) PROJECT ORIGINAL FINANCING AND ADDITIONAL FINANCING (P169405).
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act Cap E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed project, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces a twenty–one (21) working days Public Notice for information and comments on the revised Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) report submitted by Sustainable Procurement, Environmental & Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) Project. Brief Project Description: –
The Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) sets out the environmental and social (E&S) documents that shall be prepared or updated, consulted, disclosed and implemented under the Project, consistent with the World Bank ESSs, in form and substance acceptable to the International Development Association (IDA). The E&S documents may be revised from time to time with prior written agreement by the Association to reflect adaptive management of Project changes or unforeseen circumstances or in response to Project performance.
