PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT PLAN (ESCP) AND STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT PLAN (SEP) REPORT ON THE PROPOSED BUILDING RESILIENT DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR GROWTH (BRIDGE) INSTRUMENTS PROJECT IN THIRTH-SIX (36) STATES OF THE FEDERATION AND THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY (FCT) BY FEDERAL MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS, INNOVATION AND DIGITAL ECONOMY.
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act Cap E12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major development activities to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of their proposed project, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces a twenty–one (21) working days Public Notice for information and comments on the revised Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) and Stakeholders’ Engagement Plan (SEP) reports submitted by Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. The Display Centers are: –
- Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), Central Business District, Abuja – FCT.
- The 36 States Ministries of Environment
- Federal Ministry of Environment Offices across 36 States of Nigeria;
- Federal Ministry of Environment, Environment House (Brown Building), Independence Way, Central Business District, Abuja-FCT.
Brief Project Description: –
The proposed project is required to address the critical broadband (wireless) infrastructure deficit nationwide hence the deployment of the remaining 90,000Km gap through this Building Resilient Digital Infrastructure for Growth (BRIDGE) project in each of the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory. The project on completion shall provide high quality and resilient internet services in selected unserved and under served areas across Nigeria.
