PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (ESIA) FOR THE PROPOSED INSTALLATION OF 20″ INCH X 80KM GAS PIPELINE ORIGINATING FROM OFFSHORE TO THE PROPOSED DE-SADEL POWER PLANT IN IBENO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF AKWA IBOM STATE, NIGERIA BY DE-SADEL NIGERIA LIMITED
AND
PROPOSED 750MW GAS-FIRED COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT PROJECT IN IBENO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF AKWA IBOM STATE BY DE-SADEL NIGERIA LIMITED.
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act CAPE12 LFN 2004, which makes it mandatory for proponents of all new major developmental activities to carry out EIA of their proposed projects, the Federal Ministry of Environment hereby announces twenty-one (21) working days public display exercise for information/comments on the draft Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report submitted by De-Sadel Nigeria Limited.
Brief Project Description:
The proposed 750MW Combined Cycle Gas-Fired Power Plant is located in Ibeno Local Government Area, Akwa-Ibom State. The proposed project involves the construction and installation of a power plant on a thirty (30) hectares of land at Ibeno, with four(4) generating units providing 180MW each, utilizing natural gas and heat recovery technology.
Brief Project Description:
The proposed project shall involve the construction of 20″ x 80km subsea Carbon Steel Gas Pipeline from Offshore to supply Gas to the proposed De-Sadel Power Plant to be sited in the vicinity of QIT in Ibeno Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.
